Planning & Utilization Coordinator

The Planning & Utilization Coordinator is responsible for the planning and use of State and Federal funds. The coordinator is responsible for the preparation and revision of the State Plan for Vocational and Technical Education, Local Plan Guides and annual Local Plan Updates for use by Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to plan, fund and conduct approved state and federally funded programs.

The Coordinator provides notification of Perkins III federal allocations of funds budgeted to the LEAs. The coordinator provides notification of state vocational funds budgeted to LEAs for equipment and special state projects. The coordinator sets up and maintains LEA Local Plan files, maintains records of approved activities and programs, federally reimbursed staff salary budgets and payment of funds budgeted to equipment, adult and other costs.

The coordinator is responsible for the preparation of: the Comprehensive Annual Report to the U. S. Office of Education (USOE), the vocational part of the State Superintendent of Education's Annual Report to the Mississippi Legislature, and the vocational part of the Mississippi Report Card.

The Planning and Utilization Coordinator is the contact person for annual state audits of state and federal funds, and USOE federal audits when scheduled.
