Office Responsibilities

• Provide support to assist teachers and administrators in improving their practice
  
  
• Solicit community support to improve educational opportunities for children
  
  
• Provide public forums to disseminate information about strategies that will result in improving educational opportunities for children
  
  

• Conduct research and review literature to identify educational issues relative to learning styles and student achievement 

• Assist low performing schools in Mississippi with the development and implementation of their School Improvement Action Plans
  
  
• Analyze individual teacher effectiveness using observations, documented profile data, interviews, classroom assessment data, and staff input to develop and plan strategies for improvement
  
  
• Provide classroom teachers with research-based methods to obtain and maintain quality effective classroom instruction
  
  
• Enhance the instruction of teachers by providing support and follow-up to statewide professional development
