Requests for Proposals, Grants & Applications
The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) has worked to support districts and schools through various initiatives. One important initiative will be K-3 Literacy Support Grants, to help local schools with implementation of the Literacy-Based Promotion Act.
Applications will be accepted from school districts on behalf of individual schools that serve any configuration of students in grades K-3. Funds must be used to assist in improving literacy outcomes for students in grades K-3. Grants will be awarded in an amount up to $50,000 for schools that are not receiving literacy coach support from the MDE. Grants will be awarded in an amount up to $25,000 for schools receiving support from an MDE Literacy Coach. The RFP has been amended to include a revision to component #4 of the School Literacy Plan Template. Amendment 1 reflects the revisions which are included in the Amended RFP. Literacy-Based Promotion Act Statewide Public Awareness Campaign – Request for Proposals
The Mississippi Department of Education is seeking proposals for a Literacy-Based Promotion Act Statewide Public Awareness Campaign. The campaign should promote reading through the continuum of a child’s education, support teachers to help students learn the skills necessary to become skilled readers, educate parents and other stakeholders about the importance of reading and the impact this legislation can have on students.
