Requests for Proposals, Grants & Applications
The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) has worked to support districts and schools through various initiatives. One important initiative will be K-3 Literacy Support Grants, to help local schools with implementation of the Literacy-Based Promotion Act.
Applications will be accepted from school districts on behalf of individual schools that serve any configuration of students in grades K-3. Funds must be used to assist in improving literacy outcomes for students in grades K-3. Grants will be awarded in an amount up to $50,000 for schools that are not receiving literacy coach support from the MDE. Grants will be awarded in an amount up to $25,000 for schools receiving support from an MDE Literacy Coach. The RFP has been amended to include a revision to component #4 of the School Literacy Plan Template. Amendment 1 reflects the revisions which are included in the Amended RFP.
