The Mississippi Department of Education’s (MDE) Office of Healthy Schools has launched the “Health is Academic” initiative to promote health and wellness in Mississippi public schools. The goal of the Nutrition Integrity 2011 Grants is to replace fat fryers in school kitchens with Combination Oven Steamers in order to make a substantial difference in the number of calories and fat eaten by children at school. Applications Due: December 12, 2011.
