Contracts         

  1. Mississippi Public Broadcasting.  $25,000 (subject to availability of funds).  07/15/05 – 06/30/06.  State funds.  Sole source
    (Office of Academic Education)

The contractor will utilize the appropriate scheduling software to schedule interactive video classes and conferences and provide confirmation of scheduled events to the appropriate network contact for K-12 schools/districts and the MDE; monitor all video classes and teleconferences for problems with scheduling/software or equipment operation; provide the necessary infrastructure for ISDN connectivity as needed; provide monthly reports on usage and on problems within the network to OET network contact; and repair and maintain equipment in K-12 and MDE interactive video network sites.  MDE will provide scheduling requests in writing on a timely basis.  Local sites will be responsible for problems associated with end user equipment and for onsite telecommunications

02.       Dr. Glen Stribling.  $44,650.00 (subject to availability of funds).  08/01/05 – 06/30/06.  State funds. Small Purchases-Pool
(Mississippi School for the Blind)

The contractor will provide low vision examinations and evaluations for the students at the Mississippi School for the Blind (MSB) and for all other school children in Mississippi, identified as being in need of such services during the 2005-2006 school year.  He will evaluate students, prepare evaluation reports, participate in staff/parent conferences and assist with in-service training for local school districts.  The contractor is located in Crystal Springs, Mississippi.  The Department was able to reduce the amount of the contract by negotiation.  The contractor is not a former Department employee or related to a Department employee.

03.       Debbie Russell to provide language/speech therapy to students at the Mississippi School for the Deaf.  $22,240.00 (subject to availability of funds).  08/01/05 – 06/30/06.  State funds. Sole source procurement
(Mississippi School for the Deaf)

The contractor will provide language/speech evaluations and therapy to students at the Mississippi School for the Deaf who are determined to be eligible for such services.  These services include progress reports for grading periods and IEP development.  The contractor is a former employee of the Mississippi School for the Deaf.  The contractor is not related to a Department employee.

04.       Approval of contracts for State Public School Building Fund
(Office of Safe and Orderly Schools) 

The Office of Safe and Orderly Schools requests approval of contracts for state public school building funds.  School districts are requested to submit an agreement that has been made and properly executed between the school district and contractor for capital improvements.

05.       Approval of change orders for State Public School Building Fund
(Office of Safe and Orderly Schools) 

The Office of Safe and Orderly Schools requests approval of change orders for construction projects.  School districts are requested to submit any modifications to an approved contract.

06.       Approval of final projects for State Public School Building Fund
(Office of Safe and Orderly Schools) 

The Office of Safe and Orderly Schools requests approval of final projects for state public school building funds.  School districts are requested to submit closing documents upon completion of construction projects.

07.       Approval of school district facility site(s) for the location of the construction of capital improvements 
(Office of Safe and Orderly Schools) 

Lamar County School District requests approval of a site for the construction of a new elementary school (grades K through 2 with an enrollment of approximately 450 students) located on approximately 15 acres on Highway 11 South in Purvis, Mississippi.

08.       Approval of school district facility site(s) for the location of the construction of capital improvements
(Office of Safe and Orderly Schools)

Lamar County School District requests approval of a site for the construction of a new elementary school (grades K through 5 with an enrollment of approximately 600 students) located on approximately 16 acres on Todd Road in Sumrall, Mississippi.

09.       Approval of school district facility site(s) for the location of the construction of capital improvements 
(Office of Safe and Orderly Schools)

Lamar County School District requests approval of a site for the construction of a new elementary school (grades 2 through 5 with an enrollment of approximately 1,600 students) located on approximately 22 acres on Old Highway 24 in Oak Grove, Mississippi.
