Ever heard a rumor you knew couldn't possibly be true, but you didn't know where to turn to learn the truth? Well, now there's a place to go for "the real story." This web site was designed specifically to communicate important information directly to teachers. When something happens that could affect you as a teacher, such as new legislation or a change in state board policy, it will be posted immediately so that you get "the real story" first. The site will feature a "hot topics" section as well as a frequently asked questions page. Links to news releases, teacher recognition programs, and current legislation are also provided.
The Mississippi Teacher Center (MTC)
The Mississippi Teacher Center was established by the Mississippi Legislature in 1994 to attract and retain quality teachers. The Center focuses on teacher recruitment, enhanced training, and instructional support. Programs and services of the MTC include the Future Educators of America program, National Board Certification, administration of the Mississippi Teacher Shortage Act, Teacher Placement, the Mississippi Teacher Renewal Institute, the Mississippi Teacher Forum, and Troops to Teachers.
The Mississippi Teacher Exchange Interactive Web Site
The Mississippi Teacher Exchange Interactive Web Site was developed
and is maintained by the Office of Educational Technology Exemplary Teacher
program. The site seeks to facilitate communications among classroom
teachers by providing on-line educational resources. It also provides
a forum for the dissemination of information and the collaboration of resources
needed to sustain a teacher mentor network. Check out the Mississippi's
Teacher Network Tele-mentoring project, browse through the announcements,
exchange information on-line, view on-line resources and try out the latest
teacher's tools and much more.
