Title V, Part A - Innovative Programs
| Purpose |
| |
- To support local education reform efforts that are consistent with and support statewide education reform efforts.
- To provide funding to enable state educational agencies and local educational agencies to implement promising educational reform programs and school improvement programs based on scientifically based research.
- To provide a continuing source of innovation and educational improvement, including support programs to provide library services and instructional and media materials.
- To meet the educational needs of all students, including at-risk youth.
- To develop and implement education programs to improve school, student and teacher performance, including professional development activities and class size reduction programs

| Use of Funds |

| Funds may be used for innovative assistance programs that may include any of the following: |

- Programs to improve academic achievement;
- School Improvement programs;
- Community Service programs;
- Activities to promote best practices;
- Recruitment, training and hiring of highly qualified teachers to reduce class size;
- Professional Development activities;
- Technology programs;
- Instructional and Educational materials;
- Adult Education and Family Literacy programs;
- Gifted and Talented programs;
- Alternative Education programs;
- School Nurses;
- School-based Mental Health services;
- Pre-kindergarten programs;
- Academic Intervention programs;
- Service Learning activities;
- CPR training in schools;
- Smaller Learning Communities;
- Parental and Community Involvement;
- School safety; and
- Programs that are researched-based.
