Educator Licensure

Praxis Test Information

Mississippi requires that all educators pass a rigorous test to comply with licensure guidelines and with No Child Left Behind standards. The Praxis series offered through Educational Testing Service are the tests approved by the Mississippi State Board of Education. On the attached link is a list of Praxis exams approved in Mississippi as well as ETS contact information.

The Office of Educator Licensure does not accept photocopies of Praxis scores. We must receive them electronically from ETS or we must receive the original score report.

Praxis I & II Preparation Resources are available from the Mississippi Library Commission.

Praxis Test Websites

Once you enter the Learn-A-Test website, click on the “jobs and careers” icon and then the “teaching” icon. You will then see that Praxis I and Praxis II preparation tests are available. To take the tests, applicants simply provide a user name and password. They can then take the tests as often as they like. Also, the practice tests offer instant grades so applicants can better recognize their strengths and weaknesses.

Praxis Test Schedule for 2012-2013 - Educational Testing Services (ETS) website

This list of Praxis tests and increased passing cut scores have been approved by the State Board of Education and will go into effect for licensure on September 1, 2012.  Anyone applying for a license requiring any of these tests after September 1, 2012 must meet the new passing score.
