Educator Licensure

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

Teachers with standard certification in Mississippi hold a five-year renewable certificate. These licenses must be renewed every five years with Continuing Education Units (CEUs) or college coursework or by completion of the National Board process earned during the validity period of the license.

CEUs must be obtained through an accredited CEU granting agency. Any Continuing Education Office at a college, university, or community/junior college is an accredited CEU granting agency.

ABCs of Classroom Mgt. and Discipline

  • TOTAL 32 hrs. per track
  • COST: $299

The ABCs of Classroom Management and Discipline certificate program provides K-12 teachers assistance with turning theory into practice, and field based clinical knowledge to develop self-discipline for disruptive students in the classroom. The program offers a five course curriculum designed to meet the needs of teachers who are struggling and overwhelmed with classroom challenges.

Tiny Tots Program

  • DATES: TRACK 1 June 13, 14 and June 20, 2014                                                                TRACK 2 July 11, 12 and July 17, 18, 2014
  • TIMES: 9am-1pm and *Online Module Completions required per track.
  • TOTAL 32 hrs. per track
  • COST: $199

The Early Childhood Studies and Management: Tiny Tots certificate program, prepares students and practitioners in the development of infants, toddlers and young children at the local, regional and national levels.

CEUs are available for the early childhood certificate programs at an additional fee. Faculty are well prepared in the field of early childhood development and education studies. These certificate programs are designed using evidenced-based research in order to identify the knowledge, skills, teaching methods and best practices to prepare parents and professionals to work with infants, toddlers, and young children.
