Mississippi Teacher Evaluation System (M-STAR)
                                    Reaching Professional Excellence

The Mississippi Department of Education believes that effective teachers are essential to ensuring that all students reach high standards of learning. The Mississippi Statewide Teacher Appraisal Rubric (M-STAR) is an evaluation process designed to improve the professional performance of all educators. M-STAR provides a system of performance assessments based on common standards to gauge teacher effectiveness, help track educational progress, identify areas of need, and improve performance throughout a teacher’s career. On this page, you will find information about the evaluation system, forms, and instructional videos.
