Former Interim State Superintendent Accepts New Position with Education Leadership Group
JACKSON, Miss. – Dr. Lynn House, former interim state superintendent of education, submitted her resignation, effective Jan. 21, to begin working with an education leadership organization.
She will be working with the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE) as a senior fellow. The organization works with schools and districts to advance school improvement in curriculum, instruction and assessment systems. Additionally, House may also work with the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL) – primarily coaching principals.
“The offer to work with ICLE is simply not one that I can turn down,” House said.
House became interim state superintendent for the Mississippi Department of Education on July 1, 2012, after serving as the deputy superintendent for instructional enhancement and internal operations since 2010. She also previously served the MDE as the director of federal programs.
“It has been a wonderful opportunity to be back at the MDE over the last four years. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the MDE staff, superintendents and legislators who are committed to improving education in our state,” she said.
