An educationally responsive school is designed to meet the needs of each student with the goal of having all students reach mastery over subject matter. Responsive instruction builds on the interests, experiences, knowledge, and skills that students bring to the classroom to meet the needs of each student. An educationally responsive school is a school in which all students are experiencing success.
The Toolkit for Success provides a variety of resources to help educators to be educationally responsive and to meet the diverse needs of all students. Summaries of the publications available in the Toolkit along with helpful articles and other resources can be found on this web page. The Mississippi Department of Education has provided one Toolkit for Success (a three box set) for each school district as a resource for educators.
The Three-Tier Instructional Model and Teacher Support Teams are key components of an educationally responsive school. Information about the Three-Tier Model, a Teacher Support Team manual, frequently asked questions, and other resources can be found on the Teacher Support Teams link.
