Electronic Field Trips

The Electronic Field Trip Series is an interactive, live educational experience available from Ball State University , in partnership the National Park Foundation, the Smithsonian, The Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum and many more historic institutions. Together, these organizations have developed a digital classroom that enhances learning through dynamic website and broadcast programs. These educational materials are developed in association with each of Ball State¹s highly-credentialed national partner organizations and crafted to meet the McRel (national) standards. After weeks of classroom preparation time, participants tune in to the EFT, a live broadcast that links students and teachers around the country with knowledgeable experts on site. Throughout the 60-minute presentation, viewers explore unusual artifacts, talk with scientists, experts, and witness cool experiments.

Fine Arts Listserv
A fine arts listserv has been developed to assist fine arts teachers in the state in networking.  It is hoped that through improved communication, we can help each other and work toward our common goal of improving arts education in Mississippi.

Through the listserv, you will be able to field questions to all participating teachers in the areas of dance, music, theatre arts, and visual arts. This will also provide an important link with the fine arts specialist, functioning as the primary method of communication about opportunities in fine arts.

If you would like to be a part of the Mississippi Department of Education’s Fine Arts Listserv, follow the directions below:
