Special Education Policies and Procedures

New Procedures Manual


The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE), Office of Special Education has developed proposed Procedures for State Board Policy 7219 Regarding Children with Disabilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Amendments of 2004.

Beginning March 9, 2015 and continuing through April 7, 2015, the proposed Procedures will be available for review and public comment. The document can be accessed at http://www.mde.k12.ms.us/OSE/PP on the Office of Special Education (OSE) website. Copies are on file for public viewing at the Mississippi Department of Education, Central High School Building, Suite 301, 359 North West Street, Jackson, Mississippi.

Seven regional public hearings are scheduled across the state for the purpose of receiving comments pertaining to the proposed Procedures for State Board Policy 7219 Regarding Children with Disabilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Amendments of 2004.

Volume II: Free Appropriate Public Education / Individualized Education Program / Least Restrictive Environment / Extended School Year Services

Volume III: Procedural Safeguards / Dispute Resolution / Confidentiality
