Mississippi Alternate Assessment of

Extended Science Frameworks (MAAESF)

The Mississippi Alternate Assessment of Extended Science Frameworks (MAAESF) for students with significant cognitive disabilities (SCD) is part of the Mississippi Statewide Assessment System. It is designed to assess the educational performance of students with disabilities who cannot participate in the general education curriculum, even with accommodations. Students in grades 3–8 and 11 & 12 who meet the state’s three SCD criteria are eligible to participate in the MAAESF.

Publications include the Teacher Resource Guide, MS Extended Science Framework, and the Assessment View System Guide.

Planning Resources include the Best Practice Timeline for Teachers and the Instructional Planning Tool.

Portfolio Forms include Ethics in Data Collection, Media Permission Forms, Progress Determination, and all evidence cover forms.

Other required forms include the Student Correction Form, Transfer Form, and all other forms that require submission by the Special Education Director and/or District Test Coordinator.

Training Resources includes all of the links for the online training modules for veteran teachers and district administrators.  It also includes links to all of the power points and hand outs.
