What is Procurement’s role?

The Office of Procurement provides support to the program offices of the Department of Education in accordance with state and federal laws, the Mississippi Board of Education Policies, the Mississippi Agency Accounting Policies and Procedurals Manual (MAAPP), the Mississippi Department of Education Employee Policies and Procedures Manual, and the Personal Service Contract Review Board (PSCRB) Rules and Regulations.

The Office of Procurement is responsible for reviewing and approving contracts for personal service contracts which fall under the purview of PSCRB. The office reviews and approves grant methodologies and the discretionary and competitive grant awards entered into by the department. The office also provides technical assistance and training to Department staff regarding procurement-related matters.
