Good Afternoon, The Office of Management Information Systems has received reports of fraudulent emails being sent to school district employees. These emails claim to be a "Maintenance Notice" that MDE will be performing a database upgrade from "Old" to "New" servers. The contents of the email request that employees enter in their user name and password to help with the upgrade. It also reinforces this with a scare tactic by saying they may lose access to the database if they do not send the needed information. MDE recommends that you alert your employees that the Office of MIS will never request username and password information via email communication for any production system. The Office of MIS will also never send account information over email. If any of your employees feel that they may have leaked their account information please have them contact the Office of MIS immediately at 601-359-3487.
