DESCRIPTOR TERM: State Plan
The State Board of Education is implementing the requirements of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA). The State Plan Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act is a three-year plan specifying what will be done to comply with IDEA. State Department of Education staff are directed to develop and/or amend the Plan in accord with Federal regulations. Upon completion of the Plan, and/or amendments to it, the Plan shall be presented to the State Board of Education for approval and disseminated to appropriate personnel in the educational community. A current up-to-date copy of the Plan shall be kept on file in the State Department of Education.
